Love Letters from the Abeggs: |
| "…to those who are called, beloved in God the Father and kept for Jesus Christ: May Mercy, Peace, and Love be multiplied to you." (Jude 1:1) |
| | Family Health: all on the mend…
Thank you all who have been praying for numerous health concerns over the past few months. My sister Lana has continued to improve radically after much physical and occupational therapy. She's not only back home but was able to go on a family vacation a few weeks ago, which is nothing short of miraculous since the 20% survival rate given in the ICU only a few months prior when Claudia & I visited. Claudia's mom Teresa has been receiving treatment for shingle-like pain, and is responding well, and another reason for us to thank the Lord! Claudia's health continues to have cycles of energy and exhaustion, but we thank the Lord for the medical advice we're receiving and we continue to seek Him for long-term healing. We've had conflicting reports between Grave's disease and Hashimoto's disease, all of which have to do with her thyroid in various ways. Thank you for your prayers as we continue on this journey!

| | Hopeful New Directions:
Last month I had the privilege of finally attending the World Journalism Institute's -Mid Career Course. I say "finally" because it's been 8 years of altered and adapted plans due to ministry, health, or travel that prevented my attending. Some may remember that my BA was in journalism, a long time ago in a galaxy…well, you get the idea. Back then, one of my hopes was to report stories of how God is at work through His Body, the global Church. Since that time, ministry in Chile, Cuba, Central America, Miami, anti-human trafficking, and other arenas dominated both my time and efforts. Attending World's intensive program re-ignited a passion for writing and journalism, with the benefit of having seen God's handiwork through multiple cultures and numerous years. While specific next steps are still unclear, I hope to use our experiential knowledge and networks to encourage readers and inspire intercession in God's ongoing Kingdom advancement. Please pray for His guidance and wisdom as I engage potential partners and even employers in these and other arenas for my future labors.
And while you're at it, I highly recommend you take a moment to visit World News Group. I can't say enough of their print, online, and audio programs, nor have I encountered a more Biblically ethical group of reporters, editors, and staff dedicated to investigating and publishing "biblically objective journalism that informs, educates and inspires". |
| | | Family Updates:
Jeremy is entering the final month of his college journey at New St. Andrew's, and we're thrilled to be joining both our boys in Moscow, ID, for his graduation celebration on May 8th. If you'd like to send Jeremy a note of encouragement in this next step, please do so at jerabegg@gmail.com, or via snail mail to 914 S. Jefferson #3, Moscow, ID 83843—he'll be there through the end of May. For now, he plans to continue as a marketing coordinator for Maddox Transformers while prayerfully exploring opportunities in writing, reporting, and financial management, along with various entrepreneurial ventures. Please keep him in your prayers during this season of transition. |
| Nico continues to build his videography and editing portfolio and looks forward to documenting a trip to Rwanda with a dear family friend and International Director of the Great Commission Collective this summer. As Nico builds his business and clientele, his focus is on the extension of God's kingdom and using his talents to benefit those in full-time ministry. Pray for the Lord to open doors and provide guidance as Nico continues in this line of work and service. |
| Claudia and I are deeply grateful for each of you who have sacrificially maintained our ministry through your prayers and finances. As we work toward a transition, please pray with us on how to best steward our time, energy, experience, knowledge, and resources for our Lord's glory and the good of His people. By God's grace, we hope to share significant updates with you through upcoming newsletters as plans unfold as to where we will serve next. In the meantime, you can continue to contribute financially through Mesa Global (UWM), and prayerfully support us directly through our ever-present Lord. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
"Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience, desiring to act honorably in all things". |
